An individual assisting in barricading a Jewish temple in northern Manchester has described how a deadly assault took place, leading to the loss of a pair of community members.
Early Thursday, the survivor was inside the worship center when the assailant drove a vehicle toward and assaulted attendees assembling for a service to commemorate Yom Kippur.
The witness noted that the 'monster' individual tried to break down the doors of the place of worship, and he remembered locking down the facility with other congregation members.
The victims, in their 50s and 60s were killed in the incident on the morning, while several more were injured while attempting to defend others.
Mr Levy, who is a key figure at the synagogue, described securing the entrances and noted that the assailant used blades and garden containers to attempt entry.
I witnessed a large, menacing figure ram against the entrance, trying to bash them down with a knife in his hand," he told interviewers.
The single phrase that could be discerned was him saying 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'.
Just those words I heard him say. We remained behind the doors and we were declaring 'we are not letting this man in'.
He appeared as an insane and malevolent attacker."
These statements coincided with many individuals attended the ceremony for Mr Cravitz.
Relatives, members from the local Jewish community as well as Rabbi Daniel Walker, and participants of the wider Jewish community gathered in a nearby location to honor the deceased.
Mourners filled the gravesite, with a number standing outside the prayer hall in the downpour, listening to the ceremony and tribute over audio systems.
Through a statement released on the following day, his relatives stated that he had a helpful nature.
Greater Manchester Police reported that Mr Daulby was likely affected by law enforcement rounds as they shot the attacker following the incident was reported.
Mr Daulby, who was recognized by his family as a "courageous person", was attending a service at the temple when the attack unfolded.
He had been a cherished sibling, caring relative to his four nieces and one nephew and a dear extended family member," his relatives added.
His loved ones are shocked by the unexpected loss of a kind and humble individual.
"His final act demonstrated great bravery and he will always be honored for his heroic act."
Several arrests have been made in relation to the incident, and officials stated that a group were still detained on that time.
Each of them were detained for involvement in terrorist acts.
The suspects include two men, of specific ages and both arrested in Prestwich; a older woman detained locally; and a woman in her 40s detained in another location.
Other suspects were let go with no additional charges, authorities announced on the following day.
